MLO Pass is $99 once. Mortgage Educators & Compliance (MEC) sells Ultimate Test Prep for $129.99 (labeled a limited-time offer) with 365 days of access, and Standard Test Prep for $79.99. MEC is the better pick if you learn from video (Ultimate has 7+ hours) or want a refund backstop: its First Time Pass Guarantee refunds $110 or the package price, whichever is less, if you finish its study requirements and still fail. MLO Pass is the better pick if you want full-length timed mocks weighted like the real SAFE test, an AI Trainer, and study games. Neither one replaces the 20-hour NMLS pre-licensing course.

How MEC's First Time Pass Guarantee works
MEC's Ultimate package includes a First Time Pass Guarantee. If you don't pass the SAFE MLO National Test after meeting its requirements, MEC refunds $110 or the package price, whichever is less, within 45 days of receiving your request. That's one refund per purchase. To qualify, MEC says you must:
- Watch all of the Ultimate Test Prep study videos.
- Pass all of the practice unit quizzes.
- Pass the final exam with 80% or higher (unlimited retakes are allowed).
- Take and fail the SAFE MLO test within 30 calendar days after you finish the course.
- Send the refund request, with a copy of your test results, within 30 days of the failed test.
It's a real backstop, and MLO Pass doesn't offer anything like it. In practice it covers about the cost of one retake fee, as long as you follow MEC's study path and test promptly. Read MEC's guarantee terms
