NMLS exam prep with lifetime access (2026)
Several SAFE MLO test prep tools sell a one-time lifetime option: MLO Pass ($99), Threshold MLO Prep ($49), PrepLicense ($59.99), OriginatorExam ($79 plus tax) and MLOPractice ($199). The big course providers are time-limited: OnCourse Learning Prep xL is $199 for 365 days and Mortgage Educators Ultimate Test Prep is $129.99 for 365 days. None of these count toward the 20 hours of NMLS pre-licensing education, and the $110 NMLS test fee is separate.

When lifetime access matters
Retakes. NMLS makes you wait 30 days after a failed attempt, and 180 days after a third, and each attempt is a new $110 enrollment. Lifetime access means your prep is still there during the wait.
Your timeline. If you plan to test within a few months, a 365-day product like Prep xL or MEC Ultimate covers you, and both offer things lifetime tools mostly don't, such as larger question banks, video, and OnCourse's live webinars.
What "lifetime" means. Read the terms. OriginatorExam says lifetime means "as long as the site is around." MLO Pass's terms say the same thing in its own words: paid access lasts for life, and ends only if the service ends.
Monthly plans add up. PrepLicense and MLOPractice also sell monthly and yearly plans. If you expect to study for more than a few months, compare the lifetime tier against the renewals.
